In 1984 three sisters joined together to create “Forno delle Sorelle Palese” in Potenza, in the Lucanian region of southern Italy. Since then, they have hand produced bread, focaccia and biscuits in their traditional wood-fired oven, using genuine fresh local ingredients and time-honoured regional recipes.
Their delicacies reflect the age-old tastes of the traditional lucanian diet. The sisters’ story is a labour of love, a choice of life, a voice which echos through past generations of lucanian women to those of the future.
